How to get my first 100 subscribers?

Don't forget to tell all your friends and family. If you have a facebook make a facebook page and invite all your friends and family to like it. Give them a quick message of your goal and what you're all about.

when it comes to the birth of a gaming channel. Patience is key. You are in one of the most competitive markets on youtube fighting to gain subscribers. Since you've only been up for a month or so. I would take baby steps, although 100 subscribers doesn't sound like a lot. It really is a large milestone. But you have to ask yourself, what makes me and my channel different from the most popular gaming channels out there? Like PewDiePie or Markiplier for example. And is that difference good.

Also, and this goes with the baby steps thing, don't expect your channel to take off on your first few videos. It really comes down to each video you make. You have to be proud and happy with how your videos turned out. And then share them on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, YTtalk, and other forums that you can find that allow that sort of thing. To tackle the goal of reaching 100 subscribers, you are juggling a large responsibility of being an entertainer, an editor, and a self publisher all at the same time. And that is just to reach 100. You have to push that even harder if you want to continue to keep those subscribers happy.

I wish you luck on your journey my friend.

Thank you @doublestuff productions for all your tips. I never thought of it that way. You cleared up a lot of stuff that I initially had wrong. I will take your advice and apply it to what I do. :)

So I started a youtube channel a little over a month ago and currently have 14 subscribers. My goal is to have 100 subscribers by the end of the year. I'm completely new to this and need some advice and help on how to accomplish this. Here's some general information about my channel ::
- I upload gaming videos of any kind of game. (Horror, adventure, funny, sandbox)
So I'm hoping that whoever reads this has a lot more expertise on youtube than I do. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. :)

I've moved this to the strategy forum.

Welcome, you're new here. :) This question gets asked a lot so I would suggest you spend some time browsing the forum and reading the many other threads and answers on this subject in the strategy forum and also the tutorials forum. Don't forget the search too (top right)

If you want specific feedback on your channel, you can ask for it in the reviews forum (the only forum where that is allowed)

Good luck :)

I'd say just keep at it. I reached my 100th sub about a month or so ago and I was constantly active. I asked feedback, gave feedback and now I'm sitting at 130 subs and growing. I constantly try and improve wherever I can, so don't give up :)

Social media is a big one make a social media profile for your channel twitter, facebook page, tumblr etc learn how to make a banner or get someone to do it for you use anotations to link between videos, post regulary, edit videos to cut out dead space there is so much to growing your channel its an ever learning progress make good videos, get invloved in the community and have fun

Hey Joshua!

Here are a couple of quick ideas:
  • Promote yourself through social media! I prefer using twitter. You want as much traffic you can get to your YouTube Channel.
  • Post like your on steroids! Do a 30 day challenge and produce 30 days straight of content. Along with the traffic from social media you will see a major boost in subscribers and followers.
  • Produce quality content. If you want them to like the video, subscribe and keep coming back you need to make sure your video is top quality. To do this at first just imitate your favorite gamer's tactics and then slowly add your own twist to them.
  • Keep your videos personal. You want people to build a relationship with you. If they can't see your face they won't really know who you are. Give them a face they can recognize and trust.
  • Make it super easy for them to like and follow. Guide them to the subscriber button vocally and visually!
