A JTAPhotographs Tutorial
Hey there everyone!!! JTA or Joe here, and this is a tutorial again (in written form) on how to get MORE VIEWS on your YouTube Videos!!!! All of the following points come from pieces of information collected from all over the internet and personal tips and tricks to help produce the best possible article to help you YouTubers to succeed in getting more views on YouTube!

How to get MORE VIEWS on your YouTube Videos!!!
Planning
- When starting your youtube channel, you want to make sure that you plan everything thoroughly first. This even comes down to your YouTube name!!
- Try to choose a name that is catchy, and has a 'ring' to it that people will remember! This'll make them remember you and your channel in the future and make them want to come back to it! Try to avoid using inappropriate words/language in your name to avoid any future concerns that this could cause.
- Decide on the style of videos that you want to produce. First and foremost, you want to make sure that the videos you produce are something that you enjoy to make. You don't want it to feel like a chore when you make your videos! Try choosing a hobby or topics that are very close to you and that you feel you could upload consistently about. This can go from Gaming to Vlogging; anything that suits YOU. It doesn't matter too much what type of videos you decide on at the beginning, because you can always expand upon this when you become more successful!
- Plan an upload schedule for your videos. Try to keep to this schedule as well as possible, but tbh it doesn't matter too much when first starting out a YouTube Channel. At the beginning you should probably aim for a couple of videos a week - maybe one in the weekdays, and one at weekends. Or if you're feeling ambitious, try uploading more often! This can always be made more frequent as your subscribers begin to want more content from you.
- Plan every video before you make it! You want them to be high quality and also efficient in making it! Planning your videos when you first start out will really help you later on in your YouTube career since you will be in a habit of planning them! Often this is optional, however, it helps you to collect all of your ideas together!
Making the Videos
- QUALITY OVER QUANTITY!!!! If you create high-quality videos then you are far more likely to become successful on YouTube!!! People come on youtube mainly to watch videos rather than to listen... so first and foremost, you want people to be watching something that looks GOOD! Even if you have something really good to say, people will click away quickly if they see poor quality video.
- Aim for HD, its the way forward!!! This is an encouraging site for people watching youtube videos, when the quality changer actually reaches 1080p!! It shows that you actually took some thought into the quality and proves that you are here on youtube to make a point.
- Make sure the whole video flows together nicely!! YOU wouldn't want to watch a video with bad editing that didn't seem to flow between each cut! Make it flow!!! If you do cut and edit your video together, make sure that it isn't too obvious and keep it smooth. If you can, it might work best for you to take it in one cut, or as few a possible, but try not to have mind blanks!
- Optimize your videos! Edit the title, description, tags, closed captions, thumbnails and annotations! This will will show people that you spent/spend a lot of time on your videos and they will be encouraged to click these links and help you out more!
Promotion of Videos
- Use Social Networking Media!!!! Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Blogger, YTtalk and many many more!!!
- Post your videos and channel on these sites, but DONT SPAM! This is a great way to help to promote your videos. Seeing as these sites are constantly growing with the amount of people on them, it is a great way to get your videos views! Moreover, somewhere like YTtalk, a YouTube Community, is going to help to give you honest feedback on all of your videos!
- Get your friends involved! Your friends are going to be the people who know you best and will be more willing to help you succeed in YouTube than anyone else! They can help to share your videos and channel with even more people than you can. However, a lot of people find it very difficult to show their videos to their friends because they become embarrassed! If anything, your friends will support you! If you are afraid of doing this, why not wait till you have a decent subscriber base and view count (using the other techniques) to show them that you are actually going somewhere with this!
- USE BLOGS! This is a great way to help boost the traffic onto your YouTube Channel and videos. Send your video links to people who operate/run blogs to help publicise your videos. Or you can create a Blog yourself to self-promote your videos!
- Use Websites! Try to get your videos embedded onto people's websites as well to help increase video views (especially if friends/family own successful webpages).
Interaction and Response
- Make sure that you respond to most/all comments and messages that you receive about your videos, channel or work! This shows to people that you are an active YouTuber who really wants to become successful.
- Deal with haters/trolls in the correct way! Avoid getting into arguments with them. This is why they hate on you. They want an angry response. Just act calmly and provide them with a very sensible, mature and respectful response.
- Try to build good relationships with other YouTubers and people on Social Media sites and forums! This way you can eventually try to collaborate with them to help boost the traffic to your videos and page! Collaborations are a great way to help smaller youtubers (in particular), to do what is known as 'sharing subscribers'! Lets say that you have 50 subscribers, and so does the friend you want to collaborate with. When both sets of subscribers watch the video on your channels that the two of you have made, they may well be impressed and want to subscribe to the other person as well! This could in-turn give you an extra 50 subscribers (assuming that the majority of subscribers on your two channels are different).
- Personally thank anyone who helps to promote your channel and videos! Whether it be in a video response, email, or via Social Media, make sure that you thank them personally. This way, you'll be on their good side, and they'll be more likely to help you/do things with you in the future!

Recommendations
- Here are just a few tips and recommendations that I have for Video Software, Cameras and anything else!
- Video Editing Software -FREE: Windows Movie Maker (simple, and a great starting point, but has limitations); PAID: iMovie (very simple, Mac's only), Sony Vegas (Great programme for any PC user), Adobe Premier (a step down from Vegas, but still a great programme).
- Cameras - CHEAP OPTIONS: Flip Ultra HD (great camera, small and compact, fits in your pocket and films in HD), Sony Bloggie (very similar to the Flip, and great for vloggers!); LARGER BUDGET: Canon 550D/650D (awesome DSLR Camera that not only takes great photographs but is also a brilliant film-maker!! Around the £500 mark though).
- If you own a smartphone, this is actually a great piece of equipment to use for vlogging! The iPhone camera, or other smartphones' cameras (like the Samsung Galaxy S3) are great for recording, especially if you own one!
- Scenery - CHEAP OPTIONS: Back Garden; White/Coloured Card and Boards; Painting a Wall (and using as a blank canvas); LARGER BUDGET: Green/Blue Screen, a Studio Room!
I really hope that this helps people to get more views on their YouTube Videos!!!! If you're viewing this but you're not already a part of YTtalk, then WHY NOT!!! JOIN NOW!!! Great YouTube Community who will give you honest feedback and advice!! And to everyone else on YTtalk, GIVE THIS A LIKE and RESPOND with any extra tips and advice and I'll be sure to add it to the list!!
Cheers, JTA [Joe]

Agreed! How many subs did i gain just to say thank you in the comments? I think quite a few!
You have a lot of subscribers. I think saying "thank you" helped you a lot :)
