I liked it a lot. Color scheme worked real well with all your videos. The tabs, at the top of your banner were a little hard to read because of the design, but I must stress "a little." Thanks a lot! My background image (colour version) was actually selected from a competition to be archived as part of the 2012 Olympics heritage. You sure do know your photography.

Okay so I've followed on from all your suggestions by means of minor tweaks with making the banner a little more transparent (I still want to header to stand out and the darkness flows with the lightening of the YouTube's channel container). I also added a tiny bit of shadowing for the text on the cards so the words can be read better. I realise there is still a fair bit more than can be done, but that's all the energy I have for the moment. Thanks guys.

Oh I know, I was going to tell you how to blend it at the bottom but I dont know GIMP sadly, theres a tutorial here that might help:

You want a grey and the other colour of the gradient to be set to transparent

I've tweaked the readability of the card/tab text even further and replaced the temporary "Google" card/tab/link.

Now that I've addressed all your suggestions it's time now for me to reverse my zombified state. Thanks guys! Keep on keeping on.
