How do you figure out your cpm?

To calculate your CPM go to http://www.clickz.com/cpm-calculator. On 'Cost of campaign' enter the amount you were paid from your Network and in 'Impressions' enter the amount of "Monetized views" for that month you were paid for then click Solve and it will provide you with a CPM.

YouTube will take their cut from the Networks gross earnings (percentage depends on their agreement with YT) then the Network pays you x% of what they got from you after the cut from YouTube. Obviously there wouldn't be any MCNs if YouTube they didn't profit from them in the first place...

It should say it on the ad performance page, it also should give an average CPM on your network`s dashboard, the earnings shown are before the network takes its split.

CPM = money made per 1000 views before split is taken
RPM = money made per 1000 views after split is taken

shane - i am trying to understand this better. i notice sometimes there are pre-roll ad you can skip and sometimes are the ad you can't skip. Some content has only display ads. Do they all pay the same? How do you know what type of ads are in your RPM calculation? thx

You set the ads your self , they all have different CPMs,

You`re asked when claiming a video which ad you want to use, they all pay different CPM rates.
