I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions on how a YouTuber should approach doing song covers?

I'm new to this, but want to try and get myself out there as a singer, but I'm not too sure on how go about making covers for YouTube.

The few song covers I've seen usually change the song in some way. For example if it's a rock song, they'll make an acoustic version, with just an acoustic guitar and maybe some soft drums. Since you don't get very specific in your message the only advice I can give is to not try to mimic the song exactly, put your own touches to it.

i believe covers they often change up the notes and melodies, i heard one cover that was a completely different song to the original so there you go if thats any help.
