Help With Sport Highlight Videos

Not profiting? You think that just because someone don't monetize something, they are allowed to steal content and use it ?

By that logic, it would be ok to pirate a copy of Star Wars, burn it on to DVD and then give it to people for free. Do you think that's legal? (Answer: It's not)

Even without monetization, those videos would generate traffic to your channel and brand. You'd be taking traffic (and revenue) away from the copyright owners.

I respect your point but feel that scenario is quite different.
In the original post I was simply asking about sport highlights - short clips of goals for instance, potentially months after they have been aired and most importantly, the content is no longer available to purchase on any platform.
The piracy of a DVD is of course illegal.
All in all, I just wanted to make a few compilation videos, which yes of course would give my channel far more exposure to a wider audience. I think it's fair to say that this thread and the few responses above was quite an eye opener and I am going to look at the legalities of my current content before continuing.
