Help Upload Background Please

W recently created a background from a PSD Template. Cool! Right? Not :(
We are having trouble uploading, which makes me think we are doing something wrong.
We are saving the doc as save for web PNG file keeping it under 1MB. When we upload through the settings it just sits there doing nothing. It acts as though something is happening but then it never does.

So if there are any specific instructions around we would be very happy.

Save the BG as a Jpeg and turn quality down to 8 or 9 and it will work. It will still look fine dont worry!
 
Ok, I am getting it to load now, thanks.

What is the exact size to make the image?

Mine seems to be to large at 1800 x 1500
