Guitar/piano tutorials...?

I sing and vlog stuff
I may be aiming to create a video like this, but are guitar and piano tutorials copyright? Or are they probably fair use? Just want to set up a small discussion with a question ;) Thanks!
 
compositions and melodies are copyrighted if i remember correctly (if not, sorry for that!).
but really.. i know no one who received a strike just from covering or teaching a song..
 
From what I know, tutorials are given some leeway because fair-use favors the educational use.
So as long as the audio source is original and you can show to a large extent that it is teaching and not just repeating the tunes with the "tutorial" label superficially imposed, it should be able to pass.
Just my limited knowledge on the subject though.
