Good Software for making music for trailers/short films?

Hello, I just wanted to know what would be a good software for making music for either a trailer or for a short film? Just wanted to know because I'm about to making a comedic movie trailer, but it's going to have a serious tone for the most part so I need to be able to create really dramatic/epic/emotional music for it. Apple just released Logic Pro X, looks really awesome, not sure if it has a free trial though, but it's got some awesome features like drummer kits and other cool stuff like that.

I looked into some of the programs being mention here, but couldn't find a free trial for any of them, but it's ok. I worked with what I had(which was garageband.) It's not the best for trying to make soundtracks, but it will definitely do! Thank you all for the suggestions!
