General Monetization Questions

If you are looking in adsense the number is incorrect. Youtube/adsense transitioned revenue reporting over to youtube last April or so.

Only revenue reporting has been moved to YTA. All other statical information is available as usual from the AdSense interface.

The number he is probably quoting is from the dashboard of adsense which only is current day CPC (fairly meaningless by itself...) however, plus if anything is gonna be accurate its youtube analytics.

Oh yeah, CPC is meaningless to say the least. He said RPM in the post you quoted, though and that's what I was referring to :)

Thank you Flammy! This is very informative. How come my cpc starts at .17 - .20 and decreases throughout the day? I go to bed at 11 whens its .13 and always wake up at .11? is there a reasons is goings down by half throughout the day?

So confused, where are you getting a CPC report?

It's quite simple. Your CPC goes down when fewer advertisers are willing to pay high amounts for clicks. This would mean that many of the advertisers on search terms for videos like yours have timeframes set for their ad auctions and are bowing out later in the day.

i see cpc on adsense. works out to be the exact same as rpm but rpm is based on the amount clicked and the amount clicked is based on cpc

Not exactly. CPC is Cost Per Click. Meaning the amount the advertiser pays each time an ad is actually clicked on by a person viewing the game. CPM is a different method of advertising based on impressions. So it's Cost Per Mille, which means cost per 1000 impressions. An impression is triggered every time an ad is displayed on a page, regardless of whether a person clicked on it or not.

On YouTube CPM is often used as a catch all to boil everything down to a usable number.
