hi,

I recently asked about if cpc goes up with after a while. then i learned that .9-.12 cpc per day is low. what is the average? and if the average is higher why is mine so low? (or what makes cpc - how is it determined)

Thank you

One way CPC is determined by the person advertising via Adwords. When advertise my videos with adwords I set my cpc as low as 4c. Recommended is a bit higher. So depending on what the advertiser spent is what you get (Google takes a cut too). Hope this helps!

you set your own cpc? isn't it set by google?

I heard other have cpc of .2 or .25 even and when i clicked their videos some had some advertisements as mine

it was informative but i sitll dont understand why mine is so low :(

CPC is cost per click, you as the platform for the ads do not set the rate. YouTube does. Do you maybe mean CPM? Thats different monster altogether.

As I indicated in the other thread you posted, you should be focusing on CPM rather than CPC.

You have little direct control over both CPC rates and CPM.

Slightly more specific, the competition between advertisers using the bidding process in Adwords sets the rate. The more competition, the higher the rate.

all i see is cpc, rpm and ctr? I dont see CPM?

can i control any aspects of these? and if so, any recommendations ?

Holy jezuz christ on a cracker, read what I post.

I said this in the other thread, why don't you try it?

  • Go to YouTube Analytics
  • Ad Performance tab
  • Playback based CPM box on top left
This is your CPM before fees and cuts. Multiply it by 55% (.55) to get your "take home CPM" which some refer to as RPM when you are with adsense.

I asked if there is any way i can do something to make it go higher or suggestions that i can implement to achieve this. i understood you the first time. it is also alot easier to just look at adsense rpm which is one step

If you are looking in adsense the number is incorrect. Youtube/adsense transitioned revenue reporting over to youtube last April or so.
