Gaming channel: Sticking to one game, but is it okay to branch into different subideas of the game?

I make Terraria videos and plan to stay within that niche, but I find that I would like to do various types of content and not just get into one specific type of terraria video genre. For other gaming channels, has this been possible ?
 
Ive seen many people do the same thing, Ive done this too. Some people have gotten away with it because they actually strategies. If you were like me who played mostly fortnite 2 years ago, and then play rayman legends for fun and decide to stream it, its best to just play it without a camera because you are most likely to lose subscribers than gain anything from it. But if I know that for example, warzone is booming, Ill have to map it all out before I make a decision. unless you are a lets play channel, dont do it unless you actually plan on finishing it.

I'm the same way! I love to branch out and play other games but find the few viewers who do watch me go away when I switch games. I think it is tough to do people like Summit1g can pull it off but others like Ninja lose so many viewers when he isn't playing fortnite.
