Freedom pledges to invest $100,000 for its smaller partners - Thoughts?

If that was my money I wouldnt have offered those then if I was to restrict it to one niche. It seems unfair to their other partners who could really do with equipment suited to the videos they make, tripods or softboxes for example. I would be willing to bet most of their partners are gamers which does make sense but I couldnt do it with it being quite unfair on those who would find the equipment useless.

I am interested in how they will be choosing who to give it to. Does anyone know the criteria to have a chance to get the equipment?
It seems like it's maximum 1K subscribers. I believe that they're getting the products at heavily discounted prices, though. More products will come with time as they sign more deals - it's not GAMDIAS only.

That being said, at least something is happening.

It would be good if others followed suit or tried to offer something to compete with it, there could be a lot of money going back to partners and that could create a lot more value for their partners. I can imagine a tier system working with these sorts of things, more revenue going into equipment for their larger channels with other offers that are more suited to larger channels and rightly so and less into the smaller ones but something at least :D More money going back to the partners is definitely a step forward.

Oh well that is interesting, I wonder how many of their partners have less than 1k, I can imagine that being a lot as bad as that probably sounds, I dont mean that as an insult lol just with the requirements being very low to no requirements.

I like how it wont just be products like that, it would be awfully unfair and wasteful if people received products that wouldnt benefit their channel/content in any way.

Really things received should help the creator do more or better themselves so they can say that along with the tools, we help you grow your channel by giving you useful equipment too.

It is a dangerous path to take by saying 'Freedom Family' yet only a tiny percentage of channels will receive part of the $100K 'sponsorships'.

I suspect that it is a co-op advertising campaign with the vendor and that Freedom's cost is nowhere near $100K.

He didn't say the value of the gear being given away was $100k, he said Freedom! was setting aside $100k for this.

While I don't agree with some of George's practices, making assumptions like that is kind of arrogant. If this turns out to be the case though, I suppose I'll put my tail between my legs and say you were right.

They seem to be choosing people based off their activity in the comments section and community forums.

This will be a good thing, and atleast this shows one thing, they are taking in peoples thoughts on the network and trying to make it right, good on them. Whether or not this is going to be a successful investment for them I do not know, time will only tell. But it is good to see them trying to help smaller channels.

No clue why they would prefer to offer this over investing that money into ad sales.

It seems to me that networks are moving away from ad sales. They are more interested in brand deals, sponsorships, and licensing member's content where the network can get a bigger chunk of that money.
