If you don't need the money, don't rush with the monetization.
I lost a lucrative freelancing gig and badly needed any extra money I could get back in 2018/2019, so I pushed my Patreon page hard when I had just 1k subs and not even 1,000 views per day. I'd still do it, because it literally saved me from financial cataclysm looming on the horizon, but if I had a choice, I'd most likely wait until recently, when I FINALLY started getting picked up by the algorithm after almost 2 years of very, very slow growth.
