Editing Software?

I was using a free trial of camtasia 8 but that just ran out does anyone know of a really good editing program besides sony vegas? Thanks guys

Not a free one, I am afraid. It's a true fact that with most software you get what you pay for. The best one I have seen for a Windows PC is Final Cut Pro, but it's stupidly expensive, it's like $200 or something :(
 
What about Windows Movie Maker, it's free. :)

It remarkably salvaged a corrupted audio track when my full Powerdirector 10 was unable to.
 
I know you said besides Sony Vegas, but that's the best for it's money that I've encountered out there. Platinum edition for 100 bucks is what I use, I don't see how the Pro version for 1000 dollars can be any better.
 
I personally use Corel Videostudio Pro x5, but I imagine really it depends on what you are wanting to do with your videos.
 
For PC sony vegus and Avid are the most used, you might also check out HitFilm.

For Mac I use Final Cut Pro X and Premiere Pro CS5, both great programs!
