Does anyone know...

I really wonder, and please don't take this personal, why everyone is in such a hurry to get a partnership. Isn't it "better" to let your channel grow for a few months and see how it goes? Or is having a partnership when you don't even have 300 views on your vids that much better?

problem is percentages are the same no matter your views.

Certain genres of video can't be monetized thru youtube/adsense on your own. So people with gaming channels or those that do music covers are usually pretty quick to partner so they can make some money from their videos. I don't really see that much of the appeal for others. I didn't approach a network until I was getting a million views per month and even then, half of the offers that came my way were horrible. Building your channel up to a higher level will give you more options and more control over the contract.

I know it can't be monetized if you have something like gameplay but is it really necessary to monetize it from the very beginning? The first few months you don't earn much money with it anyway so :) just sayin

Totally agree, but if you look at the flip side of things, 30% of nothing is nothing, so you're not really forking over much money for the partnership.
