Considering Joining a Network Questions and Concerns

Pat,

I'm with TGN myself and have around 100k daily views and is on the 100% contract, all I can say is my CPM is like $5.50, I dont know how they can offer such high CPM been with TGN since 2013 and great Support, all Im saying is would not be smart turning down TGN's offer.

A quota contract sets a level where your earnings are untouched by a network. So let's say your quota is $5k per month. That means the first $5k per month is 100% yours. The network only takes a split on money earned in excess of $5k, so if you earn $6k in that month, they can only take a percentage on $1k of your earnings.

Never apply via the website/standard method when you are larger. There's too many hoops to jump through. Try to get hold of whoever is in charge so you don't have to deal with red tape when negotiating a contract. Most larger channels will have a contact list within a network-I have a bunch of contacts from all the meetings I had with networks before I signed, so you're welcome to any/all of the information. I PMed you with the BBTV info that I was given at Vidcon, so check your PMs on this forum.

Thank you, that is all very helpful information for me. I appreciate you sending me contact info. I do have interest in looking into Maker Studios too, as it seems I should really be looking into many different Networks. This is a very important decision for me so I appreciate all the help![DOUBLEPOST=1375947248,1375947082][/DOUBLEPOST]
Has anyone recommended Union For Gamers? If not, join Union for gamers

Are you a part of Union for Gamers? They offer a contract of 90/10 correct? Do you believe it would be more profitable joining them than one of the other offer I received thus far?[DOUBLEPOST=1375947293][/DOUBLEPOST]

Nope I'm not part of UFG, but they do offer 90% revenue share and no lock in contract. The most profitable would be go with them until you hit like 100k daily views, then other networks will offer you contracts such as 100% earnings until $5k in a month then 90% split after etc

Nearly every serious network would be willing to work a quota deal at a lower level. UFG is an OK network-I'd primarily use it to get a better deal while my channel is smaller. A word of warning-UFG contracts are only guaranteed for 12 months. After that time, your contract is evaluated and there's no guarantee it will stay at the same level or go up-the wording they use in the contract means it could go down. While I doubt that will happen with a growing channel, the clause is obviously there for UFG's protection, so take it for what it's worth.

With the current Stats none of those two (TGN/Acifin). You should go straight to Maker, Fullscreen or Machinima and negotiate a Contract and for God's sakes don`t accept the Standard Offer you might get first.

If TGN did offer you 4.00 with an 100/0 they hadn`t taken you at any moment serious and to be honest I would have already stopped the discussion if someone had put an Contract like that in front of me and left their office.

Your Channel might have only grown bigger this Month (July -> Aug) but that doesn`t matter in the longer run. Stop wasting your time with any Network that doesn`t take you serious. If Maker (TGN) is trying to screw you over ->Fine!

Forget them and contact someone from the other Major Networks otherwise you will always get screwed over again and again by every Network you might apply.

Overall:

Because your Channel might only have grown in the past few Weeks it doesn`t mean that you should still try to act like it would be as small as it was two Months ago.

I know it might sound harsh but try to forget where you where and act more like where you are currently with your Channel.

I am a pretty successful YouTuber and have been looking into joining a Network. I have gotten some pretty good offers from networks but it would be nice to discuss them with someone in a network so I know I make the right decision. I was offered very enticing contracts from both TGN and Acifin Networks. I would mean a lot to me if anyone in a Network or apart of either of those took a few minutes to let me know what I should do, or give me feedback on the Network.

Channel Stats
86,000 subscribers
300,000 views daily

Offers
TGN 100/0 split up to 4.00 then 80/20 for any amount over 4.00
Acifin 90/10 split

Are these networks worth joining? I spent quite awhile negotiating these deals with both networks because I know I could get a good split with how many views my channel is receiving. Income is my main concern while joining a Network, as I believe I have pretty much figured out how to grow my channel solo at this point. Who should I choose? Or should I look elsewhere?
I would look for a network focusing on larger channels in your genre. Any other network will simply leverage your size to sell additional ad's which will be diluted by 1,000's of other partners.

I'll jump on this one. Honestly, this is a leftover of the fixed CPM contracts and was basically a legal backup in case CPMs crash dramatically. It won't be in the updated/cleaned up version of the contract we're working on (mostly to get rid of old stuff, include stream revenues, etc). The rev share wouldn't change, it would be pretty dumb since technically the guy could just break the contract and reapply since we're no lock in. ^^

Pat: Sent you an email, hit me up if you have any question about UFG. Don't really want to go all spammy-recruity on YTTalk :p (Edit: I guess I didn't, your yahoo.com mail seems dead. Sent you a YT message instead)

A healthy signing bonus is pretty standard at those levels as is a short contract and a very favorable split. Remember that pre-roll advertising isn't everything and any network that can help facilitate brand deals/sponsorships should be given priority. If your primary goal is to earn money, that is the direction you need to take your channel and the money earned there can easily make your adsense earnings seem like pocket change.

I am already getting many more views than that. I average over 300k daily[DOUBLEPOST=1376012064,1376012011][/DOUBLEPOST]
Here is my YT channel Pat

For me it really is that I don't know a lot about Networks. How good of a deal should I expect to get with my channel? I really don't know what type of split I would get and what type of CPM I should be able to earn. What is your opinion? Too be honest I can only see things going up from here now that I have learned how to grow my channel, I believe I should have no problem getting it to 500k subscribers.[DOUBLEPOST=1376012444][/DOUBLEPOST]

I will definitely keep all this in mind. How big of a signing bonus are we talking?
