I know changing the thumbnail, tags, and title will have youtube "recheck" the video, so on a successful video you shouldn't change those things. Does this apply to End Screens too?
I don't want to upset a good video's algorithm success.
I don't think endscreens would fit into this category. Because usually thumbnails, tags, and titles are what people are seeing before they actually view the video.
I changed my endscreen cards on several videos (including my highest-ranking video), and it didn't change anything. I think it theoretically could change the video's ranking if you link a video that nobody is interested in, or change it to direct all your traffic away from YouTube, so some care needs to be taken...but you'll probably be okay. ^_^
