Centus Network is probably a scam. How do I get released?

Hi Everyone!

This is my first post on the YTTalk Fourms. I wanted to talk about the Centus Network.

So I have been with their network since October 2013. The reason I joined such a new network was because I was hoping to be in their top 100 (I mean like for other networks unless you're in their top 100 /top 10 they barely care about you). I know that whenever you come out with something new it's very hard to get it started in the field especially with all the other competitive networks. So I was nice and I wanted to help them and in turn earn what I deserve.

Okay, enough with that. Where was I? Oh yes, I've been with them since October 2013 and I was surprised that I didn't get paid in November. I emailed Conor (You guys should be familiar with him I've seen him around YTTalk forums often. But he's basically the CEO of Centus) and he said
We send our October payments in December. From then on, payments are monthly. This is the same system all networks have in place. How much do you usually earn per month from YouTube?
So I said, okay and I patiently wait until December 7th. (Side note, I thought it was rather rude for him to ask how much I made per month prior to joining the network. Maybe this is because I'm a business major and we rarely bluntly ask how much you make.)

December 7th rolls around and I noticed that my Paypal did not receive any payment. I use Paypal often and I know sometimes it needs several business days to process and be deposited into your account. So I wait a few more days and I gave a pretty generous amount of time IF it was "processing" into my account.

I message Conor again and he said
"You should have received in by now, if it is bank transfer then you are most likely going to be waiting a couple of days longer. Its around 1200$, I know for a fact."
Firstly, I was pretty shocked at the amount I made. With Google Adsense I usually make $6000-8000 per month. I didn't address the reason for this at first because I wanted to see if that was the actual amount I was getting if I did get paid.

Oh, I also forgot to mention that he's been promising me that the Dashboard is available and that I should have received an email notifying me about it a long time ago. I have not received anything about a Dashboard and I message him to inquire why I haven't received anything. Soon he stopped addressing my question and would discuss something else. To this day, I still have not received an email about the dashboard and was never ever able to see my progress.

I have quit my job to focus on school since what I made on Youtube was able to support my family. I have been dragging on my bills because Conor keeps dragging my payment. I'm very frustrated right now because I need to pay my bills and Centus is clearly not paying me.

So finally on December 17th/2013 I messaged him and told him that I have not received a single payment from him and I also decided it was time to question the amount I made. He keeps apologizing and asked for my Google Adsense earning reports. I'm not sure if that's a common thing to ask for but in my experience it's not professional to ask for someone's earning reports etc. I didn't give it to him and finally on December 19th/2013, I asked to be released from the network.

Conor,

May I request for Centus to release me from the Network? I haven't been paid since the payment date you promised (Decemeber 7th) and I really need the money to pay my bills. The earnings are far lower than what Google Adsense was originally giving me. I know Centus is new and there's alot of things you need to work on but I've been very, very patient and all I've been told are air promises. I really need to pay my bills, Conor. Please pay me what I've earned and release me as soon as possible for I cannot wait any longer. Please put yourself in my shoes and think about how this would make you feel.

I hope you understand.

Regards,
Elaine

Conor usually replies to me within hours of messaging him and the longest was probably 24hours. It has currently been 2 days since I sent him that message. I have been very patient and very understanding but this is ridiculous.

Conor and the Centus Network have been giving me full of air promises since day one. I'm very frustrated right now because I haven't been paid since October. I've been dragging on my bills and doing what I can until I received my 'payment'.

I really don't know what to do anymore. Someone please guide me and tell me how to approach this situation. If I said anything that was unclear or I forgot to mention please let me know.

Please and thank you in advance.

Maybe threaten to take him to court if they don't give you your earnings. And you should join a different network :)

It's not uncommon for network execs to ask for AdSense reports and RPMs, it helps them get an idea of what you were previously making before joining the network and how they can improve your earnings. I'd recommend contacting Creative Nation as they handle the payments.

I hope that the situation is resolved for you. It sound like they are trying to figure it out.

In regards to your reason for joining the network, I'm in the top 100 (last 30-day views) in the largest independent YT network. I wouldn't say that I get any particular notice from my network.

You may not be earning as much with the network. Even if they provide you higher-paying ads, it may not be enough to cover the split that you have to surrender to the network. Sometimes, YouTube provides Adsense ads if your network doesn't have one provided. In that case, the network still gets their cut even though they didn't provide the ad.

Best wishes to a quick resolution to you receiving your funds.

Keep messaging him and reaching out to more contacts at Centus and Creative Nation. He has no right to be holding your payment from you. Hopefully they will see this and allow you to leave and pay you.

Thanks for taking the time to actually sit down and write about your experience with a Network. It's stories like your own one that should make everyone aware of that joining a Network might not always be a Happy Story. I deeply hope that Centus Network will finally get their s**t together and pay you as soon as possible since at the current Moment everything looks like they are holding your Money back for no reason.

I'm sorry you are in this position. It is very scary when yT earnings are actually a paycheck needed to pay bills. Reach out to Shane and Kamran Sankey as well for assistance.

Until you hear back, a couple of thoughts off the top of my head.

1. What is the effective date of your contract ? Your rev payment from your network would not be for the full month if the contract did not start effective October first. (Might explain the $1200 vs your normal earnings)

2.i seem to recall somethjng about first payment being 67 days after the effective date. What would that date be for you.

Good luck!!

what network does it say you are under on your youtube channel settings? Also, if you haven't been set up on their dashboard then your payment method probably isn't setup which may be why you haven't been payed. Can you setup your payment method with centus without the dashboard? How do you know it is supposed to go to your paypal?
