Asking for permission...

Hey everyone. I would like to ask big companies for permission for using their contents, like gameplays, walkthroughs, reviews and what not. I want to be legit and need some advice. I would like to do COD's, Far Cry, Lego Games, etc. Do you know any of the company's email? Please let me know. Don't know if I'm posting at the right place or not. If not, please move my thread. Thank you for your time.

Google?

Well you could always tweet them aswell as emailing them:

COD: https://twitter.com/Activision

Farcry 3: https://twitter.com/FarCrygame

Lego: I have no clue, had a search around and couldn't find one. Try searching for the specific games websites...

Also look into each games TOS & EULA on the websites for that game, it may list copyright there. Or even search around these forums and someone may have already answered it :)

well as long as yu put commentary on the vid, its ok :) I think they would get pretty irritated to get thousands of mails asking the same question since most pples wonder if they actually can use it XDDDD But they shuld be happy bcoz its free advertising XD That way they can reach a laaaarge amount of pples ^^

I was watching TotalBiscuit's latest video and he mentioned that he gets expressed written permission directly from the devs and that's the only way he can guarantee the rights to monetize and not get in trouble for it.

He said he spent years building up the industry contacts and that was through meeting these people at conventions or showing them videos of his reviews and the view numbers he gets.

Long story short, sending someone an email without the proper contacts and portfolio to back it up might be next to impossible to get what you are looking for.
