Are MCN's really that bad?

The biggest reasons for me to be with a network are:

1. I use my Adsense accoun in a number of different places and once you are banned from Adsense you are generally banned for life. A single slip up, legitimate or not, can get your Adsense shut down for god knows how long. Networks remove this risk all together.

2. Being able to be paid to Paypal is very handy, and Adsense doesn't offer this functionality.
 
Only people that really need to join an MCN is people who are gamers, as its hard to upload videos without them.

Bigger channels only get partnered mainly because of the protection with networks.
 
Almost all the big YouTubers are with a MCN, the benefit is that you get payed every month, no matter how much money you made. And better support since Google is offering none to smaller channels.
