Adsense/YT Analytics: Surviving click-bombing without a partnership?

I've read that when you're on your own (ie. without a network) it's your responsibility to be monitoring your adsense/analytics to check for click-bombing attacks and report the unusual activity to google should this occur.

I'm not so great at understanding google analytics, so I was wondering how/where to go about checking for this type of activity on there so that I can correctly report it to google if it happens?

If there's any other additional information you could share about protection from click-bombing for those not interested in signing with networks, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Well, if you see an unnatural rise in any of your stats, but especially views, you're probably being click bombed.

You only need to monitor your AdSense account activity such as CPC, CTR and unusually high clicks. You'll know what is "unusually high" compared to your usual activity numbers. You don't need to monitor YTA as it provides no insight into your ads. Don't forget to disable all ads against your content as soon as you spot it as well as report it to Google.

How come views though? I've been under the impression that click-bombing consisted of someone clicking your ads a bunch of times, is there a way to monitor that action specifically without taking a guess based on a spike in your views ?

That's a good point. You better just listen to Gabriel or something. I don't have any experience with the analytics yet, so you'll have to look elsewhere. Sorry :(

Also, I remember reading that someone who once reported unusual activity on their adsense account from click bombing still got their account banned anyway. WTF? That's not fair...

Thanks. I've never actually used adsense to look at those (only really used it to check on my earnings before they completely changed that in April), so I guess my next step is to start familiarizing myself lol.[DOUBLEPOST=1373952366,1373952299][/DOUBLEPOST]

Thanks for your input anyway! Much appreciated

You should notice view spikes because you're not paid mostly by people clicking ads (have YOU ever clicked a YT ad? lol), but through the number of views that you have.

If you notice a crazy spike (not just because your video is super cool or whatever) then you need to disable monetisation and report it.

Take a good look around the Google AdSense Help Center: https://support.google.com/adsense/?hl=en and that should help you locating certain stuff and getting a lot of knowledge that is useful, too. About that story, he probably kept his ads active.

Also, I wouldn't worry too much about getting sabotaged because I've been using AdSense for 3 years and never had any problems.

1. Click- bombing happens (rarely).
2. The only time you should worry about click-bombing is when you do it.
3. Don't encourage others to click ads on your channel.

I learned all of this from my network inspiration, Flammy :)

All this time (I've had adsense on my main channel since 2010 lol) I was under the impression the only way youtubers get paid is if a viewer clicks on the ad, so I guess I've been wrong this whole time lol... -face palm-

Ah that's a good link to have, thanks for sharing. I'll definitely give it a good thorough read through during my downtime at work.
