4K quality good enough on YouTube? [Need feedback]

Hello dear youtubers,


I am about to start a youtube channel mainly with Forza Horizon 4 gameplay rendered in 4K quality.

However I am not satisfied with the quality on youtube. Colors somehow are washed out and the image is blurry/pixelated, especially at 720p/1080p, even on my phone (Galaxy S9), which is bad because most phone users are watching in 720/1080p.


My Example:

ReLive 2160p [AVC] max bitrate, maxed out 4xMSAA, Raw footage:

Comparing to this: Gtoofast

As you can the videos from Gtoofast are crystal clear, especially compared in 720/1080p.


What do you think about the quality of my examples? Bad, good, just ok?

I am getting the VP09 codec since I am uploading in 4k but there in no comparison to Gtoofast's videos, especially at 720/1080p. What am I doing wrong?

I would appreciate any feedback about the quality of my Video and suggestion or tips how I could improve my quality.

As @mirrorlessNY(youtuber) said, I think the video quality is great. Watched it in 1080p and I saw nothing out of the ordinary

All my videos I upload are mostly shot & rendered in 4K. The quality is better obviously but not as many people have 4K screens due to $$$.
Luckily Youtube gives people various options to watch video quality.

The quality looks good even @1080p.
Maybe slightly turn up the sharpness and saturation while rendering.
