YT Gaming Channel Advice

Hello there, I'd really appreciate some advice concerning my gaming channel. So far, I've gotten too episode five on my minecraft let's play, started a skyblock series with one of my best friends, and started a skyrim let's play among other things. I'm not sure how I want to approach the social media side of YT channels, currently I have a twitter account I'm using but I'd rather not overwhelm myself. Would I be safe and be able to gather views & subs with just a twitter account? Also, what would be a good way to gain a partnership? Would my content be safe if I used basic thumbnails (meaning official pictures of the game and the like) and music like 'approaching nirvana' in my videos? These are just some thoughts I've been having related to my channel, I'd rather not blow any chances of becoming a partner because I made a rookie mistake.

PS. Thanks a lot for any advice :D.

Becoming partner seems to be everyone's goal, but the content is what you should worry about the most. Seeing that you do "let's plays" and Minecraft videos, not only are you competing in a very large coagulation of the same genre, you're still very early in the YouTube scene. First word of advice is diversity. "The Fad Tree" lacks many branches so you must make a garden. Also I've noticed that you have some extensive videos in terms of length. Try shortening those a bit (5-10 mins). Remember that the first 5 seconds of a video is crucial to capture the audience's attention. I would also advice more enthusiasm with your voice. A flat toned personality will not get you very far unfortunately. And talk about more things other than what's going on in the game with your commentary. Anything like personal stories, opinions on different subjects, etc would be beneficial. So worry about the basics first because it's far too early to worry about such trivial things such as partnership. As far as promotion, these elements (shall you practice them) will be promotional tools on their own. Yes you can have networks such as Facebook and twitter, but YouTube is your biggest tool. Comment on other videos, leave good feedback, subscribe to other channels (only IF you like them), etc. Also stay active on YT. People can sub you do to you helping others with advice, or just being friendly.

Thanks for the advice! Yeah, I kinda realized in the first few episodes that my voice was a little flat. Since then I've tried putting a little emotion while I'm recording, so my more recent videos are probably a lot better. Concerning commentary, I'm trying to get more comfortable with talking while playing. This is my first time recording while playing so i'm trying to get used to the idea of filling in the silence, lol.

Some people find it easier to gameplan what they will say and talk about before they commentate. Since these are your first commentating videos, try that approach.

I'll keep that in mind - it is easier to talk sometimes if you already planned it out :D.

a tip on how to grow a youtube channel is not to do lets plays i mean i see u like it and if u do youtube because its fun and u like making lets plays then keep making it but if you want to grow, then don't make lets plays. I AM NOT SAYING UR BAD AT LETS PLAYS!!!! why i say don't do lets plays is because its a VERY VERY VERY large community and it will be VERY difficult to grow fast in the lets play world of youtube. if you do lets plays make it something very special something no one has seen. But youtube is ment to be fun so have fun i say don't look at youtube as a way to make it a job look at it as a hobby. Or look at as a sport by that i mean if you play sports you got to practice every day to get better, do the same with youtube. I hope that helped :)
