we uploaded an audio track via TuneCore, this then appeared on the ‘various artist’ channel on YouTube. The quality is great!
However, we want to upload it to our own channel. When we do, the quality is awful.
Obviously we can’t upload the WAV file directly. We used premiere pro to create a video with just a JPEG showing throughout, then converted that to both MP4 and .MOV, the MP4 quality was really quite poor compared to the YouTube Various Artist upload (which sounds exactly like the WAV file), and the .MOV file took half an hour to upload 2%.
What is the answer here? How can we get a high quality audio output? The track has been professionally mastered, and the WAV file is great, the converted MP4 just sounds muddy, lower quality and quieter.
Any ideas? We just want to upload an audio track that sounds as good as it is!
