YouTube Sub count fluctuation?

KWKBOX

I Love YTtalk
I have an extremely small channel so I can easily micro manage my sub count currently. Lately I noticed my count will fluctuate a few subs down and then a few subs back up. It always ends back at the same number after a couple days but why does it keep going up and down? I looked further at my sub list and all the same people are there and from what I can tell nobody left that I noticed and nobody new joined. Has anybody encountered this before?

YouTube will often remove subs and add them back once they verify that they are genuine. It's not uncommon for a larger channel to see a few hundred subs taken away for a few hours while they're being verified.

This ^^. Also, you can't see some subscribers that choose to hide their subscriptions so that can also play a factor I guess.

During the day people can also unsubscribe, and other can find your channel and subscribe. And yes, sometimes it is oddly timed around the same time so you see -1 and then back to the previous number.

I had lost one once, and when I checked up my messages I had noticed it jumped up a fair bit. YouTube being YouTube. I for one don't worry too much about it.

This happens to me alot. I stayed at the same amount of subs for ages because people would unsubscribe the others would subscribe.

Ya happens to me most of the time, my subscribers never even unsub me and suddenly their sub disappears and appears after a month! hahaa crazy YouTube technology!

wow I've finally found someone its happening to as well i dunno what it is but I've really noticed this up and down subs thing in this month (may) and i don't think its people just unsubbing cos yes i notice that too sometimes but before i had a steady stream of daily subs even if it was just one or two but just keeps on fluctuating its so annoying i hope they fix it soon.

I just lost a sub right now when I checked Youtube lol

The whole thing is really finicky. The analytics say I've lost 10 subs total but the graph only shows 2 dips where I actually lost them, so that's 8 subscriptions that are just completely unaccounted for. The whole system is buggy as hell, I think. Here's hoping they fix that one day...
