I saw this option to change to the "New Design" a second ago. I see a few people have posted what seems to be problems with it so far. I am debating on switching over, but I don't want to start from scratch. Can anybody who has tried it list the negatives, positives, and any extras they have noticed while using it? Thanks!
 
Puh-leeze, :cool: There are no bugs. Don't let other people bs you. I love the new layout, it really works for my gaming channels! I highly recommend switching!

From your socialblade stats, you only get 1.7% of your total views from your channel page. So even if the new design resulted in a 100% loss of your channel page views, you would only lose 1.7% of your views each day. So there's nothing to worry about.

We have been on the new layout for 30 days. View counts are up and our sub level has risen quite a bit. The only piece of info that we're sure about it that any video on your channel page will get more views that it did before. Every video we have on there has had a surge in views-no matter how old it is. If you don't like what you see, you can always switch back to the old design, so there's no reason to stay away from opting in.
 
You wouldn't be starting from scratch essentially - I think you'd be okay and besides it's going to be mandatory sooner or later.
These are pretty subjective but...
Negatives:
  • No background
  • Not much customization
  • No more auto-play video on your channel
  • No more image mapping
  • Avatar is put in place
Positives
  • Banners!!!
  • A trailer which sums up your channel in ~1 minute for non-subscribers
  • Works on all devices(including tablets)
  • Doesn't affect views

I just looked at wreckless eating's channel and the video autoplays...
 
I think if there was an option to change the entire background, it would look very cluttered.
 
I haven't heard any complaints about the new layout (besides one, but it is very minimal). Everyone who seemed to hate the layout before now likes it. You can opt in for the new layout, test it out/see if you like it, and if you don't you can switch back. It's optional until they force everyone to switch over (probably in the next couple weeks)

Sweet, I love food challenge videos! Just subscribed! I only have two of my own food challenges, you should check out my salvadore molly's spicy fritter challenge, it made me hurt for about 12 hours. I will def check out your vids later. I tried to make a facebook page where people share all of their food challenge videos, locations, and details about the challenges, but nobody has joined yet, lol. Anyways, I guess I'll try the new layout since you can switch back. Thanks!
