Youtube Monetization - Content from other users

If you were to make a video talking about another channel, are you allowed to show clips from that channel to add to the discussion and still monetize the video?

I agree with ToxicSludge! You can't take their clips and add without their permission! If they don't mind, go ahead! But if you wanna do shoutout for them, they won't mind at all :D

PEACE

This is a tricky area. It depends on the video. If your doing a review of the channel. Your aloud to use their content as long as it's apart of the review. This is know as fair use. As your aloud to use other peoples content for reviews, comedy, education and other reasons. As you might heard last year a guy opened up a coffee shop using starbucks logo and other copyrights. This store was called dumb starbucks. He was legally aloud to do this because it was comedy. Or also known as a parody. Which under the fair use laws. Your aloud to use copyrights, trademarks and other protected property legally and earn revenues. But I would personally do some read about the fair use laws. So you can make sure your video is fully protected by this act.

Okay, thank you! :bounce:

The best thing would be to give them credit anyway but I am not sure as far as rights go.
