Could one of the mods who has VIP please link the YouTube Help section stating the types of content which can be legally monetized and sticky it if they haven't already done so; and if they have already, could the OP please bump that thread to the top of the Stickies section?
I am very tired of seeing forum members coming onto this section either asking why they aren't making money from non-monetizable content, asking if non-monetizable content will bring them lots of views and therefore lots of money, or calling networks scams when they have joined one with content they don't own.
Perhaps a sticky thread making the YouTube Monetizable Content Types very clear to forum members would possibly put a stop to such threads, freeing up this particular forum for more relevant discussions.
Before anyone attempts to point a finger at my own video signature, this particular video is indeed monetized and with the full permission of the original content developer. It was a contest entry to a monthly competition held by the online game dev Big Blue Bubble, who allows all such entry videos to be monetized through YouTube.
