Youtube makes me feel special..

Can we have a heart to heart? Lol, no but seriously…I mean it when I say Youtube makes me feel special. Sometimes in life, you don't really get support from the people you wish to get it from. It's such a comforting feeling when people that don't even know you believe in you, and your craft. I know it starts with believing in yourself .. but lets face it sometimes we all get a little self conscious, a little insecure - and having people from all over the world stand by you, through all of your ups and downs. They're with you..post after post…video after video. It's almost like those are your true friends. Those are the people you should want in your "circle", so to speak. I know many times i'm having a bad day, and I scroll through my video comments and it just makes me feel better automatically. Some people say some of the sweetest things you will ever hear. Others…not so much but thats what comes with it. I know many of you will agree, being that we all connect here, and share Youtube. It's our own world, our own community. Do you guys agree?

Well...my channel is fairly small so I don't really have much of a fan-base or a lot of avid viewers, but when positive comments do arrive, then yes, I do get happy about it.
I'm just gonna have to keep growing to experience much of a motivation though. XD

I've said it once before and I'll say it again, 1 of the best things you can learn from YouTube, is who your real friends are, sometimes even family. I started & continued my channel in the hopes of it making me a better person so that I could connect with my real life friends a little bit better, be more outgoing and hang out with them, be more interesting and such. Ironically it's the same people (or at least 95-98% of my friends) who wouldn't show me an ounce of support, go figure. I'm a small channel though so I don't really have too many comments either way, I got 1 true supporter, a complete stranger who has pretty much been there since I started my channel so I'm pretty okay with that, not going to lie, it would be much nicer to see more comments I could interact with but I should and do take what I can get. It's a shame that 1 supporter has more work now due to new management where they work, so I don't see them commenting or watching the vids as much as they could before. On the + side of it all, I no longer need to waste my time with most of my real life "friends" and I will put my supporters before my friends any day, but I guess in a way my supporters are my friends.

Not sure about special, but getting comments and feedback makes me happy and reminds me that yes, someone is actually watching my stuff.

I agree! I'm so glad I started my channel a few years ago. Of course I look back at my old videos and think "what the hell was I thinking posting this?", but I never delete them. I just keep them and watch myself grow. I'm glad I get to bring some pretty cool people along to watch! Best of luck to you and your channel

With the YTtalk channel we have only ever had a few regulars that comment so the experience for me hasn't been as I would like and see elsewhere but I am just content knowing the videos help others out there. I definitely love getting comments when we do and it does spur you on to want to keep going. I see what you mean about feeling special, it allows someone who no one knows make something of them self and allows them to spread their message to the world through their videos, very powerful and rewarding indeed.

I totally get it! I don't have a ton of folks regularly interacting, but I do have some and they're awesome. I get so happy knowing that a video I made has made someone smile, or maybe made them laugh or made their day better. It's a wonderful feeling :)

Exactly. Agree or disagree, like or dislike... someone cared to watch my video and leave their thoughts.

I'm blessed to have friends and family members that support me chasing dreams, but I definitely see where you are coming from. And I think that is the power of the internet in general. These online games that a lot of folks play result in strong bonds formed over all the time spent with the people they game with. I'm sure that goes for many online communities, including YouTube!
