YouTube and school

I've Got It
Hey everyone on YTtalk!

i was wondering. When you make a video, it takes ofc time. Time that you could use on homework for school or other stuff. So i was thinking: "Does your "life" on youtube effect how you do in school, and makes your homework?"
Please answer (if you still are going in school). Thx!

Jeez, I did not do well this term. I have my own channel, collab channel, and a contest going + school work, so I often write hw at 1 or 2 AM. My marks have not been that good. The next term I'm gonna study more.

Well it doesn't really affect me since I'm a musician so actually 'making' the video takes just a little time. :D Recording the sound is an other story but still, this whole thing doesn't f**k up my studies. :D

You have to learn to balance and manage your time when youtubing. It can take up a lot of your time if you let it.

Good luck in your endeavors!

I took this holiday to record alot of stuff so I can schedule till the end of the year. I only have to record a Christmas special and when ever I have the time I will do a livestream :) New recordings will take place in the Christmas holiday. So now I can do school work till Christmas.

I think it depends on what level of school you are referring to and if it's college what major. As someone who studied Engineering I did not have time to do the things I wanted to do and study. My best friends on the other hand were both business majors and always seem like they were having a great time.

Now that I am finishing up my Masters, working full time and married (whew) making YT videos are important to me still. But I have to literally "block out" time for it. Luckily my job allows me to get every other Friday off work so I usually allocate that time for making a YT video. That's why I usually post 2 videos a month. It will probably ramp up more once I graduate (DEC '12!). :wavespin:

yes, its close to be the end of term in my school and i need to ask my teachers for extra credits.

Yeah I have to do things for school too. The first 2 schools were easy as baking a pie, or with my skills playing a game (baking pie is hard). But suddenly i'm at university level so I really have to do something for it. Thank god we're just started so I don't have to ask for extra credits, yet.

Yeah same here, just put school as your priority.
Sometimes the studying takes out so much of my energy that I would rather watch Tv or play X Box than edit, but I sit down and edit most days from 8 to 9:30 PM, then take a 1 hours free time break and then go to sleep
It's manageble, but it requires a lot of dedication!
