I think that if you get into the right network partnership, it's definitely worth being partnered by one. I, personally, am partnered with Freedom! and the experience has been good. Though I can't opt-in for fan funding (because of where their company tells YouTube where they're located), there's no lock-in's (so you're free to leave whenever) and depending on how big your channel is, you can get anywhere from 60%-110% revenue from your videos via ads. Right now, for me, it's 60/40. When I wasn't even making videos on this channel (maybe I had 5 up at the time or so), I got accepted almost immediately. That's a huge plus, which made me wonder if it was because of the sub network that I went through to get it. Either way, it's easier to get in than any other network. Plus, I don't have to personally deal with Adsense and having an account with them. And you get paid every month, no matter how much you made that month. There's definitely quite a few benefits, but it's something that you're gonna have to be happy with when it's all said and done.

We actually just got out of our contract with Freedom! We were really pleased with the site and the forum was pretty good. Just that like you mentioned we couldn't get fan-funding and we decided we'd just go with Ad-Sense from here on. Freedom! was great though and definitely helped us grow

Oh wow lol. That's understandable, though. I'll probably end up going to another network after my views and stuff start picking up. I mean Freedom! is great, but only when you're first starting out. I just don't like dealing with an Adsense account myself because of the experiences I've had with it.

What happened with you and Ad-Sense?

Well a few years ago, I heard that people do this thing called "click bombing," which is like botting for more views, except you're botting for more clicks on your ads. Unfortunately, whether it was your fault or not, they will disable your Adsense account if you get click bombed. I've personally have never had this happen to me, but you can't ever monetize your videos again on that channel if your Adsense account gets disabled for any reason (idk if it's changed since 2012, but I doubt it). It's worse than a copyright strike imo. Plus, they don't pay out until you reach $100 and that's just not something I'm in favor of. I would just rather go through a network than have to deal with Adsense. I will say that this is somewhat unlikely to happen to anyone, but I just don't want to risk it personally (and it is possible for that to happen).

Ah true. That click bombing thing sounds terrible and really unfair. I also don't like the $100 idea. We earned the money. We should be able to get whatever amount we want whenever we want

Exactly. I'm quite experienced on YouTube because I use to do YouTube videos between 2010-2012 and that's the way it was back then (and still is). I took a 3-year hiatus and now I'm back, but on my current channel (not my old one). Most people on here feel like they have to have big numbers to be partnered through a network, when that's not the case. They also feel like they're not big enough to make money, but you should start if off right and go ahead and set all of that up, no matter how big you are. People like the idea of having their own Adsense account, but they don't realize the true benefits of being with a network. They not only take it for granted, but they act like it's the worst thing in the world, yet it's far from it. That's just my two cents, though. People should do what they want, but they should do their research on it too.
