Yeti Pro

The YTTalk Godfather
Hey all well it seems I have ordered Blue's Yeti Pro Mic.. I did this cause I liked having the option of both the USB output and XLR... Has anyone used one what are your thoughts? Did I make a good purchase? Probably wont be debuting the mic for a couple weeks but I am pumped to be getting something new.

I don't have the pro, but I have the normal yeti and I've noticed that it picks up a lot of background noise, but thats easily edited out. I'm sure you made a good purchase because I love my normal yeti and the pro can only be better.

The Yeti is superior to the snowball in nearly every way.

I think you have the potential to achieve better sound given your choice for the Pro.

In general you will return a higher quality signal from analog XLR connections than from digital USB connections. The USB is also limited in that you can only plug it into USB.

The downside of XLR is you need to spend more money. You will need a computer interface of some kind which in the end just introduces USB back into the picture anyways. That said, havin a small mixing board on your desk with XLR plugs and hooking to your computer does give you some recording options you didn't have before.

It may not ever end up being of real value to you. However, you always have the option which is something regular Yeti owners cannot say.
