Maybe he gets paid for it...When you say Professional do you mean you decided you were qualified based on your own personal study? or do you have a degree in the arts of call of duty edits? Just pokin fun lol, dude just say your a good video editor and show examples, what could possibly make you a professional...XD

Well in my book... if someone is paying you then you sir have reached the level of ProfessionalAs in I've mastered After Effects and Sony Vegas and can apply myself to pretty much anything. Maybe you're right.. I'm technically not a professional, but I edit professionally and deliver proper and good quality edits. I'm presently working on a music video and am being payed a lot for it.
Take a look onto my channel. You're right I will change the title of the thread =) Sorry.

Just so you know... I recieved a Degree in Film Production in 1996. I have been a professional Editor since 1997 (I actually worked back when they used real film and tape to tape editing) Then got certified on AVID when they became the next Gen. I have worked for The PGA TOUR, National Geographic, Voice of America, ESPN, Fox Sports, I ran my own production Company for 4 years before selling it and now live in DC working making Documentary Films for a production company when I am not screwing around making silly Youtube video's. I own an AVID Nitris, a Final Cut 7, Adobe Premiere So I might know a thing or two about the editing book.. Just saying. I was simply trying to encourage the OP.Can't really agree with your book sir... It has become very easy to learn what you call (Professional Edit) nowdays, but edit is not call of duty with effects and dubstep slow motions, there is pacing, screen direction, transition types for video editors, it's very complicated when you do real stuff like short films etc... I mean sure, call yourself whatever you want, but sometimes people get paid for very simple stuff, that doesn't makes you professional. No offence diplos, I'm not saying that you work are not good, but kinda calling yourself professional isn't really that legit... But you know, call yourself whatever you want, but try not to convince yourself that you really are professional, because sometimes you'll just be dissapointed when other's think otherwise.
By the way, keep it up the good work, you really do have skills in edit.

I understand where you're coming from. In my domain (CoD, Minecraft etc...) I'm considered a top editor... I was expecting to find some people who need good gaming editors. Professional was probably not the word to use, and I will no longer use it around here since this isn't only a forum where there are gamers.. understood. lol & thanks for your op
Well It didn't give you my whole Resume would take to long to write it all down. But when you said "Can't really agree with your book sir..." I guess I took that as kinda condecending, perhaps you didn't mean it that way. According to Webster the definition of professional means you get paid for something. I was simply trying to encourage the OP as I like to give everyone as much encouragement as possible. Not sure why you just gave me your resume though... but I wasn't really questioning your professionalism, cause I don't really know you and your works... I was simply talking about the author of this thread.
I'm not concerned that you are professional, after all the things you said lul. But what you said about getting paid makes you professional isn't true though... By the way, I'm on my second semester in Motion picture and editing at AAU.
Glad you understood, I wasn't trying to be rude or anything.
