Wow... confusion overload.

"Start as you mean to go on". So the saying goes.

Rather than muddle through my first batch of videos and have them half as good as i could actually make them, I decided I'd go ahead and stop using windows movie maker and download Premier Pro.

Wow, so many options right from the offset. I think i'm going to need to spend some time just figuring out what everything does.
It's actually quite exciting. xD

What was the point of this thread exactly?

Though, I know the feeling. I went to Sony Vegas a few years back, and I really had some trouble getting used to the masses of stuff to try and have fun with. Then, because of it being non-stable somehow, I switched to Adobe Premiere just a little while ago, and damn was that different. Took me a good while to get used to stuff.

You probably want a pro-tip, so here's one:
Play around with it. Try all sorts of things. Edit videos only meant to be tests or learning videos for yourself. Worst thing you can possibly do is mess up the layout and a few setting, and it should not be too hard to just "factory-reset" the whole software, meaning no harm can be done in doing this. The more time spent using it, the more you'll learn.

To talk about editing software clearly.

It could easily go into the chillout section as far as conversation goes but due to the subject matter this is where it fit.

I love Premiere Pro. My CS4 is actually too weak to handle the videos I'm creating now so I'm thinking of just going PPro CC but I had the thought "Maybe I should just use WMM..." NAW!!

Anyway, editing is a breeze in PPro. Enjoy it.

I'm sure I'll get used to it soon enough. Hopefully I'll have enough time over the next two days to look it over. I have a couple of recordings set up just now but one of them needs more editing (for it to be up to a standard I'll be happy with). The other will be easy enough to look good even with WMM.

I would like to get the former released first if I can though. It's just finding the time after work in the few hours where I usually need to eat and sleep. -_-

I was actually thrown off from my seat when I saw Premiere. I'll stay with Vegas Pro for a while now.xD
