would i get in trouble for useing this in a monetized video?

I've Got It
i wanna use a custom graphic i made myself in one of my videros but it has video game characters. would i get in trouble for useing their likeness etc. heres the pic.

Clear answer: It depends.
You are only safe if you have written permission from the copyright holder.
 
There's no sure answer really. There's a chance you could but that's a risk a lot of youtubers take.
 
You should be fine to post it and monetize it, tons of top 10 / list based channels do it without any problems. It's unlikely to see any repercussions from just using an image in your video.
 
@RyanH what lets you assume that these other channels didn't obtain a proper permission in the first place?
Common sense, they're used from all around the internet and individually tracking down the owner of every image you use in a video could be tricky.
 
Well many people join networks that obtain general licenses for them ...
I highly doubt they would contact every image owner that you use in your video. Networks don't really do anything like that for their partners. It's just being a little paranoid to think you'll get a strike for just using an image - don't worry about it. I've never really seen it happen, and I don't think YT would consider it appropriate to take down an entire video if the supposed owner flagged it.
 
Well I have seen it happen multiple times and networks usually don't contact content owners one by one but work hand in hand with right collecting societies.
