HIIIIIIiiiiii...

let me preface this by saying its been awhile since I've been on here because both my charger and battery went for my laptop ( IN THE SAME WEEK ) so i had to order that stuff. But I'm back.

I did try and find the answer to this question on here as well as google and various tutorials on YouTube but I'm still having issues.

HOW DO I EXPORT OR PUBLISH AN HD VIDEO IN WMM AND NOT HAVE IT UPLOAD TO YOUTUBE ALL SMUSHED AND WEIRD LOOKING?

Like my video uploads and looks squished vertically. Does this make sense?

here's my process. After I'm done editing I go to
tools> options> aspect ratio> 16:9
Then once I publish I use the drop menu to select the 1082p option.

then I upload and I look crazy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long thread I just want to make sure I'm putting out all the info I need to put out. Are you picking up what I'm putting down? thanks!

i.....i just use after effects and click "HD youtube"....in the settings..720p one though, cuz no one without a flatscreen will truely know what 1080p is.

I do all my editing in WMM, then save the individual clips to the Computer.

Then I use Free Video Joiner to stitch them together. This seems to do a slightly better job than joining them with WMM.

FVJ also reduces the video output file size for uploading, and allows you to use the file format of choice - eg. MP4. AVI. MOV etc etc

Always get perfect HD 1080p uploads, and never had any distortion.

By weird looking you mean you video is square?

Maybe your 16:9 option renders in the pixel aspect 1,33333. Make sure your pixel aspect is square pixel 1.

Eitherway. Make a screenshot of your render settings window. This will help us a lot with finding a solution! :)
