Wi-Fi Signal

Not quite sure where to post this so i hope here is fine.

So i rearranged me apartment and where i had my router wasnt as close to my laptop is it is now. Before rearranging, i always had full 5 bars, no drops. Now with the router right next to me, ive noticed its always a constant 4 bars, sometimes it jumps to 5 but then goes back down to 4. Over the weekend it hopped down to 3, that kind of irritated me a little bit.

I changed the channel on the router, nothing. Made sure the drivers were updated, nothing. Restarted both pc and router, nothing. Now im kind of out of options. I mean my internet is fine but i just think its a little weird to not be full strength when i have a router thats got a good range on it, oh an with it being right by me. Not too much of a big deal but its something to discuss about also.

My android is a constant full signal, it NEVER drops a bar anywhere in my apartment, any thoughts?

Is the drop to 4 bars actually affecting your internet? Do you find it slower? If not, ignore it :)

No just a topic to discuss a little bit. But just curious as to why it would jump like that with it being so close but the signal was a constant full strength farther away.

Make sure that the antenna is pointed in your direction, and test it in different angles. It may just be the bar dropping not the speed.

Have you moved it closer to anything that may interfere with the wifi signal?? Microwave, cordless phone, etc?
