I Love YTtalk
Hey Guys,
This is really only going to poke fun at me, I don't know how many other people own/run Music Promotion channels, but these are just a few thoughts I have on the idea.
This is one of the hardest types of channels to grow, I can safely say this because I've done Vlogging, Gaming, Skits etc before and most of those are fairly easy to spread to a wider audience. Now considering there are over 1000 different music promotion channels on YouTube, there are are only a few successful ones that definitely stand out. Monstercat Media, UKF, MrSuicideSheep. They're always going to be on top. That's just how it is. The biggest problem with this type of channel is the fact that competition is going to be your biggest obstacle to overcome. You've got to be unique, while at the same time cater to the needs of your audience. Which can be difficult, because there is only a limited range of "New" music that comes out. So first in is usually best served.
Now chances are you are NEVER going to make any "YouTube Money" from this venture, mainly because it's not YOUR content to be making money from. If you do start gaining enough views that you're able to pull in a decent income ($20-$50 p/m) it might be a good idea (to avoid any trouble with artists) to invest in giveaways or deals with your audience. Keeping profit from this is going to be a REALLY stupid move. I've done it before, and I've been slammed on all ends. Literally. I still can't sit properly. It's only going to bring negative attention, and you're going to be the guy that makes money of others hard work for doing well.. basically nothing.
These channels are best done as a hobby, a project if you will. If you wanna mess around, upload your favorite music and connect with fellow music lovers, it's a FANTASTIC way to do that. But if you're only interest is money and subscribers, maybe it's best to stick to fail compilations and cracked programs.
That's my "rant" over, I just wanted to let my frustration out.. WHY AREN'T I FAMOUS YET :'(
Cheers Guys,
Goblin.
