Why is Minecraft so big on YouTube?

Probably because it's pretty fun to play, and it won't cause any problems when it comes to monetization or anything like that. There's pretty much going to always be something new to do in it, or discover, or build, etc.

Because people love stupid stuff.

You see, there are a billion first shooter games in the world, 90% are the exact same s**t, the variations are when you have plasma guns and aliens and stuff.

But for some reason CoD was and still worshipped as the best game in that genre although it's the same thing, plus the most retarded community too.

Because it's a game that allows a lot of creative freedom and is very open to doing whatever you want in.

If you can run Minecraft with a HD texture pack, the most demanding shaders and ultrafar render distance, give NASA a call, because you nicked their computer and they need it back.

NASA ain't getting their Pleiades Supercomputer back!!

Well, I would say because the game is kinda based off just plain Creativity, and that's what youtube channels consist of right? I mean, minecraft simply has it all. I know it's not for everyone, of course, but for someone who likes a good FPS, you can add a decent gun mod to make minecraft into an earlier okay version of quake. Or play on PVP things such as Hypixels "The Walls." It has Adventure story modes for people who are into that. Crafting, the whole tekkit thing, plain old survival. It just has something for a lot of people. I mean, I enjoy the game and know people that enjoy the game. So. Yeah.

I think It had to do with it being a different type of game.. I mean you could do just about anything in Minecraft. It separated itself from other popular games.

the ability to record, and monetize without any problems is a plus too.

And it's a fun game :3

IMO it hasn't got a strict audience, there are many different age ranges that play Minecraft. Also the fact it is largely community base is a big bonus for YouTubers. It also has many different things going for it, such as survival, Mini Games, Creative Mode. Loads of different avenues to create videos as well as it is very accessible on nearly all platforms, PC, Xbox, PS, Mobile, Tablets :)

No big secret really. It has tons of mods, most everyone heard of it, and it's the easiest one to monetize wether you're in a network or not. I bet you it wouldn't be half as popular if the developers were all strict like SEGA and Nintendo and claimed or took down Minecraft videos, but they honestly do not care and allow people to monetize it freely.

It's so popular due to the fan base and community support. A lot of other commentators saw Youtubers do it and kept the trend alive. The amount of mods keeps the Youtubers coming baclk.
