Why get a Network?

So I don't have many subscribers but i was just sitting down planning out my plan for my channel, both my short term and long term. However, one thing I noticed is that partnering with a network is something a lot of Youtubers do. So I guess i want to know why? What benefits do they offer and at what stage is it appropriate to look for a network and how do you choose one?

The biggest benefit from joining a network is the insurance value that comes with them. If you get struck with a copyright claim at 250 subscribers, there's not really anything you an do, but many big, powerful networks have the resources to fight these copyright strikes on your behalf. That's the biggest reason in my experience. Additionally, it also opens up more opportunities for collaborations with other YouTubers in that network.

However, contracts are usually formed between content creator and network; which is a legitimate document, so think about it before signing the dotted line!
