Why does Youtube keep changing the channel layout ?

No but seriously, if memory servers me right its to have the same channel design on all devices, as the one channel looks the same on TV/PC/Phone. Only thing that changes is how much of the banner you can see.

Youtube spends thousands upon thousands of research to find out what works best on the site. This new layout prmises to bring in more subscribers and views = more money for them
