Let's say I have a video called "fish". If I search "f" or "fis" it doesn't show up. Only if I type the whole thing or a key word it shows up....is youtube seriously programmed by f*****g 12 year olds? What the fukk?

I have no sympathy for someone who's to lazy to type the word "fish".
Let's say my videos is called "phylogenetic intrinstical anatomy"
you expect me to to type each full word out to search? why is it so hard for youtube to use basic search techniques that would match better?

One of those words should be fine.

It's probably because YouTube is owned by Google, and Google doesn't know anything about search engines.

the alternative would be that videos that have a title with any word with those letters next to eachother would show up... would you rather have 10 million results to sift through or just type the whole word out O.o

So Google, a search engine that is the the top, most used, most visited site on the internet, doesn't know a thing about search engines.

Right.

You have to search for full words, the YouTube search in video manager is not a search engine, it's to search your own videos, there's no point making it work like complex search engines as search engines are designed to search for significantly more diverse results as opposed to your own videos where you should know how to spell and type any of the full words in your video's titles, descriptions or tags considering you put them there . I honestly don't see a problem with the search in video manager, it could be better yes but at this stage it's a feature that works and does the job. Don't ask Google to fix some thing that isn't broken, cause they will find a way to f**k it up and then the search function will become much worse.

It's pretty obvious he was being sarcastic dude lol

YouTube can't win. If it came back with the 'fish' results even though you typed 'fis', you would still be an ******* and say that YouTube doesn't know what their doing because you were looking for 'fis'.
