Why do you fake subscribers ?

Well, the past few days I saw channels with like 10K or 5K or 3K etc
Channels with a lot of subscribers...
But they have like 500 views... And that is really sad for a channel with 10K I think...
So then you know that they faked their subscribers... With Sub4Sub or they paid for it or something.
But the question is : Why would you fake your subscribers?
It's really annoying to see channels like that :/

Well, i mean some times a lot of their subscribers are just inactive, resulting in less views. Take pewdiepie for instance. He has what about 40,000,000 subscribers, but his videos get at least 1-2 million views. This is the same for small channels. But the reason why people would buy fake subscribers, to answer your question. Would to I guess to brag to their friends that they have a lot of subscribers. That's all i could think of why.

Idk I have almost 700 subs and I only get about 100 views per episode.

My main reason was for a video that is unlisted now got me a lot of subs but it sort of made a big handful of them dead.

If you have more subs I think it helps with getting you more noticed? I don't remember where I saw that but I remember people saying something around those lines.

Personally I think it's the same as buying followers, only for the purpose of to brag. It's kind of pointless if you ask me.

The people who do sub4sub are totally dumb. They should rather promote their videos and earn genuine subscribers to get proper views.

A lot of channels that have quite a lot of subs aren't going to get the exact number of views on each video, I mean look at pewdiepie. You should only expect around 20% of your subs to actually be active.

Having 10k subscribers doesn't mean your videos will get 10k views. Heck, you won't even get a quarter of that. On top of "bragging rights," people might buy subscribers to give the illusion of popularity for the sake of enticing other people to subscribe and ultimately generate more views. More views, of course, can mean more money.

i have this problem but i definetly do not buy my subs don't assume they are all fake subs, i have so many inactive subs as a lot are from 2 years ago, i find sub4sub just as annoying the same as people who promote themselves on my videos

If you have more subs you get more benefits from companies and networks. It easier to get a sponsorship deal saying I have 10k subs than if you have 1k sub even if you both get 500 views per video.

I am not a fan of sub4sub but I actually think it would benefit me greatly at the moment. I write to companies asking for review copies and the main thing they want is the sub count number. I am starting to wish I wasn't so honourable.

I think people purchase subscribers because it opens up things like sponsorship sites and such. It doesn't actually pay off in the long run, in my opinion, but it's something that helps them for some short-term goals.
