Why do we love Mega Man X (retrospective and discussion)?

Mega Man X....a character whose collection of games spans nearly 25 years. What is the reason for his popularity and enduring legacy? In this first and second of a 3-part series, we're looking at Mega Man X 4-6, and going through Mega Man X's origins, as well as his time on the original Playstation! I'll cover his continuing evolution, game mechanics, discuss the story in detail, and much more! Be sure to stay tuned for part 3 coming next week in which I'll take a look at Mega Man X 7 & 8, as well as Command Mission and the Mega Man Zero/ZX series! Be warned if you've never played any of the games; there are spoilers contained within! Thanks so much for watching everyone!

Hey man love your videos! I grew up playing Megaman 6 off my parents NES, but played actively through X 3-7 off Playstation X as a kid. My fondest moment is (Idk which megaman x it was) when the hamburger loving yellow guy turned super tough boss. I remember the surprise and also him being one of the toughest battles for me. While somewhat monotone, I thought your commentary was very constructive and interesting to listen to; it even got me all nostalgic.

Speaking only for me and my preferences, the only constructive criticism I would give is maybe shortening the length of the video down and adding more pitch to your speech. Personally, I prefer videos under 15 minutes, but that's because my attention span is gobsh***. Even though the videos are longer than my preference, I look forward to part 3!

Thanks a lot Wrath of Kahan! Appreciate you taking the time to watch! I agree that I can come off as monotone. I think a lot of it has to do with me doing shift work, so I'm usually tired when I'm trying to get the videos done, ha ha. Couple that with the length as you mentioned, and it can get hard to maintain energy levels throughout. There's one guy who does a retrospective on each game that's 40 minutes to over an hour a piece. I couldn't even imagine that. I need to keep trying to improve on my energy for sure. If I sound bored, how can I expect you to pay attention? It's harder to do on these types of videos sometimes I think, because you're trying to do your best while still being informative, educational, and entertaining for such long periods. Definitely something I'll be working on though! I feel like I do a better job in part 3 (just about done with it) because I get so irritated with how much I hated X7 that it has more energy behind it. I'll be uploading it soon! Thanks again for checking it out!

I can totally understand being tired after shift work, I don't even bother to try doing voice parts after school or bartending, so kudos to your strong temperament hahaha. And the monotone and duration were the only two things I saw that I thought could be improved on. What you say is still informative and interesting that it kept my interest the entire time so the content is still A1! But I look forward to part 3 and the raining hellfire you will drop on X7 hahaha

Glad you understand the struggle, ha ha. Thanks a lot! I really appreciate the support and feedback! Finally got the 3rd part done (well, the first section of it at least)! I let X7 and 8 have it pretty good, but I tried my best to be fair.
