Why do some people buy subs, its crazy.

I just really dont understand, you can see the people that do it, i bet you have seen a channel with like 20,000 subs and like 7 views on videos. i suppose being a success on youtube takes time and with each video you find yourself and your channel develops along the way, you cant buy success people stop it lol :)

People looking for a shortcut to success, in the hopes that they can make a living posting a 30 second video of them picking their nose and enjoying the successes of "gaming" the system.

I actually haven't seen that yet. I have only seen the sub4sub thing, which imo is equally wrong.
 
I think they are looking for prebuilt credibility. Either for themselves or to show others. But it's a no harm, no foul kind of thing. It's not hurting anything.

I've got 17 subs and my last video has 800+ views. I see channels with triple digit subs and double 20-something views on their videos. Makes me think something iffy is going on. Makes a channel look dishonest.
If your that desperate for "credibility" it speaks volumes about the content you put out.
 
On my old channel I bought about 50 subs on Ebay for like two dollars. I'm not proud of it but then again I was like 11 or 12.
