I decided to join YouTube to have a voice and spread positivity in this crazy world that we all live in. We only live once, so why not record it? Why did you all join YouTube?

Well, I've been "on YouTube" since about 2008, but that was just really god-awful webcam "vlogging" when I was 15 and I thought I was the dog's ******** when it came to dazzling wit. It was about as dazzling as mud.

This particular account, I started this summer because I was feeling a little stuck, creatively. I wanted to challenge myself and do something different to get my name out there because things had pretty much come to a standstill at that point. I'm really glad I took the plunge because now I'm feeling more motivated than ever!

I started because I wanted to help myself, and I stayed because I started helping others.

well my first channel was in 2008 and the reason I joined went something like this:

Me: i'm bored
Friend: You should join YouTube.
Me: Okay I will.
My thoughts: I'm like 99% sure I can't join YouTube unless I have a video and I don't have any videos. Maybe someday.

Four months later. . .
I put on a concert for my family, my dad video taped using this new digital video camera he got.

The next day. . .
I'm still bored. Hey! I just realized I have a video now! I need to create an account for that YouTube thing.

So I did and the rest is history.

The end.

I watched my favourite Youtubers for a while and saw how much fun they were having, and decided I should start making videos so I could have fun doing it too.

I joined to be able to show my family and friends 3 videos I took while I was in the Navy way back in April 2008. The next time I posted to YouTube was my first dog video after we got Lola in February 2012 for the same reason, to share videos with family and friends. I then started taking a lot of video of Lola and then we got Ollie, so I was always taking dog videos. The main reason was to share with family and friends without having to send them a full file via email.

After I found out about monetization, it didn't change the types of videos I did or the way I did them for the most part. The money factor only influenced the way I promote my videos. I do have to admit I take more time editing to make the videos look good now so I can make impressive footage, I think I'd be a bit more sloppy without other people to watch the videos. I have always loved shooting video way before YouTube ever existed, so who knows, maybe I would have found some other platform if YouTube never became a thing...

I am a very opinionated person, but at the same time try my best to remain objective. I try my best to put everything into context and I feel I do that well. I'm able to see through people and their logic and try to attack the idea and not so much the person.

So with that type of outlook, I wanted to get my opinion out there and see how well I did. I've had some success, but the goal is to do it and be able to make a living off it.

I want to do a job that I feel proud of, and feel like I'm actually doing something good. When you work for a big company doing videos you're pushing their agenda, buy this product, do this do that blah blah blah... it was never anything I felt good associating with. For the longest time I acted as the microphone to other people's ideas, I want to use my voice and speak up.

I joined YouTube in 2007 because I moved to Japan for work, and it was tough to send videos to friends and family any other way, and it was a new way of sharing things with people at the time. I remember my Mom asking my brother if these videos had sound to them, LOL.

I started again this year because I'd been growing my hair, watching videos of other guys growing their hair, and thought I'd upload my own. After that, I got a bit hooked on making videos and have been learning how to film and edit and market and such.

I always liked to entertain people and when I saw my videos of people recording their gameplays i would watch it hours on end. I wanted to do something similar with that. Being able to peak someones interest while having fun at the same time. I was never able to get good content because of the type of computer I had.Now that I have upgraded it makes it so much easier to dish them out.
