Why Branding is Key!

Hello everyone , Im new to yttalk but the reason i joined was to hopefully help and meet new content creators.
So here i want to talk about branding , eg , banners and logo/icon.

Banner - now this is Mega important , mainly because if a new viewer clicks on your channel it is one of the first things they see , however you dont want your banner to be in your face with colours that clash , a nice slick background that has links on and your channel name is great , also updating your banner now and again can be good to keep that fresh up to date look.

Icon/Logo - personally i like a picture of myself as my icon , but it really depends on what you upload , if your a gamer you tend to have a logo that matches your banner , as a vlogger you tend to have a picture of yourself , it on comes down to what you want but if you are to have a picture of yourself make sure its not blurry and is clear.

I like to have my banner match my icon, because I think it looks nicer, but I've had layouts in the past that worked well but didn't exactly match.

I like ours with the paint splats linking everything together. Took forever to make

I was lucky because a fellow youtuber made my banner for free and I love it to the core~ He used the 2 little "wasabi roots" I drew representing the channel and he just made it more awesome!

Good guy Awp~ He made 3 banners for 3 channels that he chose and I'm really grateful to him because he did it without any reason but the goodness of his heart.

And my icon is just my picture. I guess that's a brand in itself; my face haha~

As a gaming channel I have the logo and a banner matching in a sense but I like to have the logo incorporated into the banner. As well as have the logo every where. It all works together to build the brand.

I think the banner should include the message that your channel promises to deliver to the audience. This way they get an idea, what to expect even if they haven't watched a video yet.

I really like my banner. It doesn't have a "message" per se, but it fits with the theme of my channel and looks inviting, I think. The most important thing for a banner to me is that it looks appealing, easy to read, and inviting to people new to my channel. Now the only thing I need to do is update my profile pic. Gotta take new photos now and again!
