Who owns the copyright of my content if I joined a MCN?

Hi all, the question comes out since I would like to monetize my videos on other (youtube like) platforms. But now I am associated with a MCN on Youtube. Am I allowed to do so? My personal thinking is that I am still the copyright owner of my own content and I am allowed to upload and monetize them on other websites, right?

yeah,i believe you're still 100% owner. im not sure what there contract reads but in terms of your content that should be all yours i could be wrong tho!

thanks for the reply. I am personally with quizgroup. But I assume that MCNs have similar regulations on this issue and of course I would to know the answer in general.

There are three possibilities.

#1 You retain the ownership rights to your content and your contract specifies this.
#2 You give the ownership rights to the MCN and your contract specifies this.
#3 You retain the ownership rights because your contract doesn't address who owns the content which by omission means the rights were never given to the MCN.

Read your contract.
 
Usually you keep ownership but it would be clarified in your agreement.
Alot of MCNs would want exclusivity on sales or sponsorships though.
