hey guys,

I'm starting a youtube channel about gaming and Sports
Now I have a few questions to get started for gaming
What kind of software would be reccomended for recording the games and myself ( webcam logitech C250 )
also , I would like to record games from my PS3/360 , Which PVR would be best?

I don't have much time to link specs of my pc , but it's good enough to handle almost anything

I have recorded both PC and Xbox 360/PS3, for PC I use Fraps to record gameplay and live commentary over the MIC (No video on live commentary), as for the xbox 360 and PS3 I have Hauppauge HD PVR which did pretty good on 720P. if you want examples go to my K9BlackOps channel and check out videos from about a year ago those are from HD PVR, the ones within the past 2 months are from my PC using Fraps.

Elgato Game Capture HD and Hauppauge HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition are two good and popular capture cards. You can pick them up on Amazon for around $140 each.

thank you man! nice channel by the way, I used fraps tutorial and found it dropped FPS when I started recording, I tried a few things out like locking it , etc... you have any idea what might be causing this?
also , if I wanted to video myself and live commentate, what program would you recommend to atach the 2 videos together?

My PC is powerful enough to make that drop very insignificant so unfortunately I cant help you there other than maybe try reducing the frame rate you are recording at. As for video commentaries I have never done it so I don't know which software would do the job, try youtube itself im sure there are people offering tutorials on how to record live video commentary while playing.
